Recipient of the 1999 John L. McClennan Award for Most Outstanding Arkansas Chapter



The Hendrix College Young Democrats is a political group committed to promoting voter awareness on Hendrix campus, in Conway, and in Arkansas. During the 1998-99 school year we have worked hard in the campaigns of various candidates in our area. We have registered to vote over 450 students in the past two years and have helped shuttle those students to the polls. Also, we sent 44 Recovery Kits to people in need in Honduras. This was a program supported by and including every student organization on campus. We are looking forward to being even more active next year!

Important Information

Our last regular meeting of the year is on Thursday, April 29th at 7:00 in Mills Library. Dr. Jay Barth will be leading a discussion: "Sexuality in Politics: Gay and Lesbian Concerns."

The Young Democrats of America Convention '99 will be held at Little Rock's Excelsior Hotel from August 18-22.

Remember that the 4th Annual Political Awareness Week will be held on Hendrix Campus in October!
